About

Hi, I’m Paul Chen — an R&D scientist who develops therapeutic antibodies and helps early-career scientists find their path in biotech and pharma.

After earning my PhD in Biomedical Science from MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2021, my career—spanning biomarker discovery, assay development, and currently BioPharma CDMO—has given me invaluable insight into what companies really need. I’ve also experienced the uncertainty of a layoff early in my career, which shaped how I mentor others navigating similar challenges.

Today, I enjoy mentoring and helping young professionals build confidence, tell their stories effectively, and land the opportunities they deserve.

If you’re figuring out your next step in biotech or pharma, I’d love to help you get there — Book a session with me today!

The new Cocha interface is much cleaner and more visually appealing than the previous version. One suggestion would be to make booked sessions easier to access, as they are currently somewhat hidden behind the profile icon in the top-right corner. I've had several conversations with Paul and gained a lot of helpful career advice as someone entering the workforce. His guidance helped me successfully secure an internship, and I look forward to speaking with him again when I begin my full-time job search.

The session was very helpful. Paul has a strong understanding of my field and quickly grasped both my background and career goals. He introduced several specific industry directions that I hadn’t previously considered and helped me narrow down four clear subfields to target in my job search. He also shared a number of practical tools that I can directly apply moving forward. On top of that, he was very encouraging and supportive, which gave me a lot more confidence in navigating my career planning.
